Second phase of Wage Order No. RBIII-16 already in effect
Part of the P28.00 cost of living allowance (COLA) given to minimum wage earners in Central Luzon has been incorporated into their basic wage rate early this month. Under Wage Order No. RBIII-16 (WO RBIII-16) published in Sun Star Pampanga last year, P4.00 from the said COLA should be integrated already in their basic daily wage starting January 1, 2012.

DOLE touches base with CEOs
Local and international company executives met recently with DOLE to discuss labor issues affecting their businesses and the national economy.
Replying to the perception that DOLE is biased in favor of workers, Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz assured the business community that DOLE will address this issue with key innovations.
First, “the DOLE is reviewing the Labor Code for possible amendments to maintain balance between the rights of workers and employers”, said Baldoz.

Bus drivers to get fixed pay starting February
Beginning February 1, bus drivers and conductors plying the NCR route will receive minimum wage and other mandatory benefits.
DOLE’s Department Order No. 118-12 Series of 2012 mandates a fixed and performance based compensation scheme in the public bus transport industry, a novel scheme which drastically changes an age-old commission-based pay practice.
